What is Hwayang?

Hwayang is a Korean-inspired fragrance and community brand born from friendship and a shared love of BTS. Created by ARMY friends, our small-batch perfumes bring together symbolic birth flowers, memory and the stories that connect us.

Our scents draw on much-loved Korean ingredients such as ginseng, rice, gochugaru, pear, mugwort, perilla and sesame seeds, found in everyday life and special celebrations. Paired with a bag charm, each fragrance lets you carry your special moments wherever your day takes you.

Hwayang is an independent fragrance brand and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by BTS, BIGHIT MUSIC, or HYBE.

What is the h’yang fragrance collection?

h’yang is Hwayang’s debut collection of seven small-batch perfumes inspired by Korean culture, music and symbolic birth flowers. Each fragrance explores an emotion or experience such as comfort, curiosity, resilience, joy, tenderness, mystery or becoming.

Every h’yang fragrance begins with three elements: a birth flower, a Korean ingredient and a story.

How did BTS and ARMY inspire Hwayang?

Hwayang began as a passion project among BTS ARMY friends, shaped by music, friendship and an appreciation of Korean culture. We wanted a perfume we could bring to concerts and attach to our bags, something personal that could also spark a connection with another fan.

Our appreciation of BTS lives through symbolism, birth flowers and stories of love, growth and belonging. Some details may feel familiar to fellow fans; others may become meaningful through your own experiences.

Is Hwayang only for BTS ARMY?

No. Although Hwayang was born from inspirations that many ARMY will recognise, our perfumes welcome Korean culture lovers, perfume lovers and anyone drawn to meaningful charms and keepsakes.

You do not need to know the references to find a scent or story that feels like yours.

Does Hwayang have perfumes for men?

Yes. All seven h’yang perfumes are unisex, made for anyone to wear regardless of gender. Choose by the fragrance notes you enjoy, the mood you’re in or the story that speaks to you.
